# 10 Singapore Night Festival @ Festival Village with Le Gluttony 22-23,29-30 Aug 2014
Night Festival 2014 took place at the Festival Village opposite The Cathay. The Festival Village had movie screenings with cozy beanbags to lie on, a dining corner with seating under romantic lighting, flea vendors and local food vendors to entertain everyone all night long!
As with all Uncle G’s pop ups, we strive to serve something different for each pop up. For Night Festival 2014, we came up with our own take on chilli beans. Combining 4 different types of beans, minced pork, bacon and tomato, a smoky savoury bean dish was born that left all our customers feeling satisfied. To add on different textures, the beans were served with freshly chopped onions, spring onions, a 63°C egg and chicharron (fried pork skin). A sprinkle of fried pork lard bits was available for those who love pork lard.
We got to know Wei Lieh & Phyllis during our 8th pop-up event at the Kranji Farmers’ Market. Wei Lieh runs Infuusa (cold brew tea) and Phyllis run Spinacas, a salad delivery business. Needless to say, we passed Phyllis Le Gluttony’s contacts immediately as it is really rare to meet other ‘couple’ vendors. And here we are, sharing a tent together for Night Festival 2014. It was really great to have supportive neighbours doing shout outs for both our stalls =)
The 4-days event ended with Uncle G and Spinacas selling out every night. We even broke our own record of selling 10 slabs of Crispy Roast Pork in one night. That’s about 250-300 servings of Crispy Roast Pork in 6 hours! Thank you all who took time and patience to queue for Uncle G’s Handmade Crispy Roast Pork and Chilli Beans.
We also sincerely hope Spinacas enjoyed their debut appearance and will continue to do pop ups in the future!
Our next pop up will be the Kranji Farmers’ Market from 4-5 October 2014 @ Gardenasia. See you there!
