Inspired by Marco Pierre White’s Pork Crackling dish on YouTube, Kenneth was determined to achieve a juicy and crispy roast pork dish. Through repeated experiments and tweaks in recipe since 2009, Uncle G’s Handmade signature item, Crispy Roast Pork was finally born.
Our Crispy Roast Pork is unlike the usual chinese style of Siow Bak, whereby the meat is typically flavoured with five spice powder and roasted at high temperature, resulting in charred skin which is then scraped, leaving a thin crust of pork crackling.
At Uncle G’s Handmade, we slow roast the pork belly in the oven for several hours, while retaining all the flavourful pork crackling. Juicy meat with crispy pork crackling, accompanied with our homemade condiments have been a hit at gatherings and our public appearances.
Through the upcoming Night’s Festival, Uncle G’s Handmade would like to share with all the notion that tasty food need not be complicated. Simplicity is beauty.
